Depression

                                                                 Introduction:
What do you think about depression? Have you ever felt depression? Do you know what depression is about? Here let me explain what depression is actually about. When you do have depression you can fall into a deep deep hole where you get stuck full of darkness and you can’t concentrate on what is going around in the world. You fall into this deep sadness and it can really affect they way you see things. When   you get depression it is usually because you are in a lot of stress in your life and you're just tired of trying to be happy all the time.
                                                                   Symptoms:
Depression can come to any person like adults, children, teenagers, elderly. It comes to everyone, but depression can be very different than other people. Everyone has a different type of sadness. When you do get depression usually the symptoms are Sadness, Feeling down, Hopeless, Bored, Confused, Stressed out, Feeling empty, Difficulty concentrating, Feeling Worthless, Unacceptable, Loss of interest and the worst of them all is Suicide.
                                                            Types of depression:

SAD may be effectively treated with light therapy.

People have very different symptoms when it comes to depression not everyone is the same. Men and women have different experiences of depression women are tend to cry more and have more guilt. Men are opposites of woman they put their feelings with drinking lots of alcohol or they may experience tiredness, lack of activities, lack of sleeping or sometimes abusive because they are upset and they tend to develop anger issues, men take it in a more rough way. Teenagers usually have depression during the high school years. They are usually the ones who would think about suicide the most. Teens rely on their parents to help them with the depression. Teens care about what other people say about themselves and that creates even more depression for them. Elderly people usually suffer from depression because of illness or healthiness and they need to take medications. When you get older your body doesn't function that well anymore.
Elderly people keep it secret to themselves sometimes because they don't want their love ones worrying about them.

Ordinary Genius
(The Story of Albert Einstein)
Written by: Stephanie Sammartino McPherson
The book that I am currently reading about is the life of Albert Einstein. In the book you get to learn about all their  different events that Albert went through during is lifetime. In the book it talks about when Albert was just a little boy who was curious about the world around him. He wasn't like other children, and  because of that it made him different than the other kids. We all know that Albert Einstein is known for being this genius that he was the one known for his theory of relativity but in this book it explains about Alberts whole life in one story so I give you The story of Albert Einstein.

When Albert was just a little baby his mother Pauline Einstein saw something strange about Albert if it was like Albert's head was not shape correctly it was like his skull didn't shape out in the correct form, but through times when he got older the shape of his head started forming into a normal skull. During in Albert's school years you would think since he was so smart he didn't have a hard job participating in school. Well you think wrong Albert Einstein had lots of trouble at school he wasn't really good with Language Arts or Social studies things that Albert was only good at was Math and Science those were his two favorite subjects but his other subjects he did not like at all. If Albert didn't like something he didn't want to learn about it he would usually ignore the teacher and daydream. Since Albert didn't have much of a choice to participate since back then the teachers used to hit the children with rulers if you didn't do something right or if you do something you weren't supposed to do the teacher will give a bad punishment. Albert used to get bullied a lot by students because he thinked different from the other children he was curious even the teachers new he wasn't like other children that's what made him special. In is school years he didn't have a lot of friends the only person he would hang out with was his sister Maja she was born two years later. Albert did have his ups and downs but he would still keep moving forward. He had trouble finding jobs he had trouble finding money things weren't so easy for Albert but soon or later Albert has gotten old and he has discovered new things ahead of him he said to a student a quote from him from the book says "Never lose your curiosity, he urged the student" that was very touching when those were Albert last moments he died April 18, 1955 he will always be rembered.

One thing that I learned about the book of The Story of Albert Einstein was that he was a very shy person when he was young he didn't really interact with other people that much. Albert Einstein had a  passion for learning about math and science he traveled a lot around with his family Albert always went to different schools and then at his school that he was at, he made a friend that had the same passion like him. His friend would always bring notebooks with him and show Albert about so many different things about math that they never new about and every time Albert discovered more he wanted to learn more and more. Then eventually Albert got older and he couldn't do so many things how he used to but his legacy stills keeps moving on by the imagination of children who still have yet to know a lot about the world.

Gratitude

In the month of November we celebrate Thanksgiving in this month we all have something to be thankful for because this is the month to give thanks to anyone who we appreciate for being in our lives and always putting smiles on our faces. I love when this holiday comes up because this is the time we're families gather around the table and bring food to the table and say thanks for another year that has past.

On Thanksgiving I usually am excited for the feast and also when all of my family get together after a long time that we haven't seen each other in while. I would like to say thanks to my family who always been there for me even though they annoy me a lot. I am honestly thankful that I am gonna be able to eat all the food I want because this is the time of year to celebrate. Happy Thanksgiving!

Gallery walk Reflection

From the gallery walk from class on Thursday there were so many different kinds of different articles that are happening in today's news. Some people talked about Trump and how he won the election for being the president of the United States of America for 2017. Other people talked about that people are trying to be a artist and they want to follow their dreams and keep moving forward. Many people chose different types of articles to write about and they were all interesting to read about new things about new stuff that are happening around the world. There are still so many things out there in the world that we still have to discover and for now the adventure awaits ahead.

From the articles I learned about that there are still new things to learn about in the world and I hope to see more. In those articles they had well developed sentences and they all explained about what they were talking about for their main reason why they chose to talk about that situation. Also from the gallery walk there were so many topics that people were talking about and all were very interesting to read.

Election Reflection

My thoughts of the election from Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Is that Donald Trump should not have won because he has no experience on what so ever for being president. Those important things have to deal with the Untied States like Climate change, Education, Bussiness, also Jobs all those  important things have to be taken very seriously because I feel like Donald Trump won't really take that serious for being the president. There has been videos about both of the candidates making a lot of mistakes on how to make America a better place for the people who live in the Untied States. Even though I do not like Donald Trump does not mean I like Hillary Clinton ethier because they are both not perfect because I think the better candidate would be Hillary Clinton because she has more knowledge on what she is going to do for the future and she can carry the legacy of President Barack Obama so people could still have hope for the future.

My thoughts of the elections results were so unfair because Hillary Clinton should had got the more votes for every state and country because she sometimes knows what she is talking about in the election vs Donald Trump. During the results Hillary Clinton had 228 and Donald Trump had 277 they were both in the middle of getting the same result. If Hillary Clinton was able to win Arizona North Carolina and Ohio she would had won already but in order for Donald Trump to stay in the race he also had to win all three states but sadly Donald Trump won all three leaving Hillary Clinton a little bit more stressful on what her next move is to win the election.

In the next election it would be very interesting because I will be able to vote for the next election and also other fellow students will also be able to vote when they hit the age 18 that they would likely be able to vote. I am very energetic and also exited because I get to choose who is going to be the next president for the United States. We still have a long way to go before the next election comes again hopefully there won't be so much kayos for the next election year in 2020. Hopefully it will be different and it will be with more positive and better influence for other people to vote for any elections that come up for any years for the new president election.

Veterans Day

On the day of November 11th is the day we celebrate the people who sacrificed there life for us
In the honor of men and woman who went out to war to protect our lives
Will be cherished in our hearts
Here is a poem that thanks you all
I don't know your name
Nor for which battle you died
I do not know your home
Nor the tears that were cried
Nor the promises broken
But I know your spirit exists, the lives you have touched
And the lives you have saved you have my respect
I honor those veterans who lived and died
For serving our country and protecting our freedoms
Thank you

The Story Behind Killer Clowns

On October 22nd 2016 around Berwyn and other places that there has been sightings of killer clowns. These killer clowns have been trying to lure out kids and teenagers into the woods. Even though there has been no sign of clowns that had done any damage yet to anybody. They still want to figure out why the clowns appeared in the first place and why they are scaring adults and children. These clowns wear these scary vicious masks to scare adults and children. There are a lot of clowns in Berwyn and in Chicago. Usually the clowns are hiding in the dark somewhere around the woods. These clowns hide in the corn field or go on omegle scarying people all over the world. A lot of people go clown hunting to find these clowns.

These evil clowns are roaming our neighborhoods. And they're spreading across the country. From one of the articles I have found a quote when the clowns first appeared it says, "On August 21st, a police deputy investigated reports of a clown with a white face paint trying to lure children into the dark thicket. A resident told him one of her sons had seen many clowns flashing green lights and her other son had heard pounding on the door and the sound of chains clanking. Other children told him that clowns had tried to tempt them with money and that the clowns live in the house by a pond deep in the woods".

The clowns come out in the day and night usually you'll find them in places that no one can see you like the woods and parks. They also stalk you around your house and try to scare you and these killer clowns send you letters with fake blood all over the letter. Is this important yes it is important because these clowns just appeared out of no where and they are trying to take over your life and kill you for some reason that people still can't explain. Some newscast say that they have found sightings of killer clowns usually occurring in the months leading up to Halloween

1st quarter reflections

In the first quarter of ELA it was some what a little challenging in the beginning of the class. Through out the quarter we would discuss a lot about articles and story's and in those discussions we would have to write a blog about what we learned. I feel like that I have improved in my writing because before I wouldn't write a paragraph or use any details to help explain my story on what I was talking about. I also had hard focusing on what I was writing about and I didn't quite understand some things.  Now that I see from my writing that I have improved a lot and I could explain more things better. I would say that I do need a little bit more help on my writing just with correcting some sentences with my punctuations. So far my paragraphs are improving little by little.

What are some strategies that helped benefit me through on the way. Some strategies that helped me through the 1st quarter of ELA is that I learned a lot of new words and phrases that helped me improve a lot of new things. I also learned some words can mean the same thing. I read a book that I have never read before and it was interesting to read about. I learned a lot of new things that I have never learned before. There are some things that I need to prepare for when I go to high school because there are so many things to learn about in the world that we can not miss out on.

Some things I have learned about the world is that you are never gonna get what you want. You actually have to work for what you really want to achieve in your future and you have to believe in yourself in order for you not not give up on your goal. Another thing is that if you want something in this world you can't always be so negative or so positive you should be both so that you could learn from your mistakes and know what to do for the next time. If you wanted to try something new you will be ready for what ever comes at you.

The Giver/Film vs. Book

Part One: In the book from The Giver tells us as the reader how Jonas receives his memories by comparing and contrast the similarities from the book and the movie. When Jonas first went to see The Giver the old guy would sit in a chair and Jonas will lay down on the couch on his stomach while then The Giver puts his hand on Jonas back so that he can receive the memory. How that supports my topic sentence is that it gives a clear explanation about how Jonas receives the memory's.The differences of the book and movie. From the movie it is a little bit different from the book The Giver tells Jonas to come close to him and he gets closer and closer then The Giver pulls his chair real close to him and tells Jonas to roll up his sleeves. You can see markings on Jonas arms they were black markings on the sides of his hand. The Giver had the same markings as Jonas. When the arms both connected to one and another The Giver will give Jonas the memories and Jonas can see the memories and when they let go everything goes back to normal. In the book a quote says, “ We gained control of many things, but we had to let go of others”. How it supports my topic sentence and quote is by explaining by sometimes the good memories can be taken away to spread out good cause.

Part two: Why did the directors and writers choose to make the movie and book very different from one and another. In the film, the director shows us the community differently from how we find out from the book. The differences from it is that the community how I imagined is that they lived up all the way in the clouds. But in the movie they live on a rock covered by a lot of clouds and out there into elsewhere it looks like the different kind of seasons since they do have climate change it shows the different kind of weather and seasons that they have never experienced like winter, fall, spring, rain and summer. There world is so unfamiliar that you can't really describe in words. The world is suppose to be a utopia place but from the outside it looks like a utopia place but when you know the inside of the secret truth it will tell you something else. Why I think the director decided to make that way is because maybe they wanted to make this world into a place that wouldn't be forgettable and it sort the of looks like our world like the earth but somehow it's still different. A quote that I found from google says, “ The community of The Giver had achieved at such great price, a community without danger or pain, but also a community without music, color or art and books”. In that quote it has a great way of saying about how the community describes itself. I do not think it changes the story I think it sums up the whole theme to the book and movie and it has a great visual on how their world looks.

Part three: In my experience of reading the book and movie came down to what I think was the best understanding of The Giver. During the whole story about The Giver the one that I understood the most was the book. Why I chose the book because it had better explanation on what was going to happen during the whole plot and setting and climax. The book explained itself by giving us good details on every chapter. The best part of the book is that every time you read a chapter the author who leave a cliffhanger in order for us to keep reading and wanting to read more about it and it made it very more interesting to read. Also from the book it showed from the beginning about Jonas life and the book gave you more of a surprised moment then the movie because in the movie they told you straight forward but for me instead I would like to be surprised on what is going to happen. By learning the experience of The Giver and telling you my opinion on what I thought was better impacted of understanding The Giver was the book.

Giver Themes

Jonas is the dynamic character in the story. Why is Jonas the dynamic character is because throughout the story Jonas is really shy and curious and confused. Sometime throughout the story Jonas starts changing his attitude. In one of the chapters Jonas shows his feelings about how feels in the beginning of the story. Like during the ceremony of the twelve when he was skipped and he was wandering why. In the quote it says “Twenty,” he heard her voice say clearly “pierre” She skipped me, Jonas thought, stunned.” (57) In that page you can see that Jonas was nervous, confused, frightened, unaware of what was going on. At the end of the story Jonas is a whole complete person. He is more brave, mindset, confident, and aware of his surroundings he understands things a lot better now that he knows more about the truth of his community. Throughout the months of being the receiver of memory. Jonas been understanding the memory's he receives at first he didn’t know about anything that was going on but now since The Giver showed him the truth Jonas want to make a change for his community and the future.

The theme in The Giver book has a strange way of telling how the world looks. In my prediction I think Jonas world is in the clouds because from the movie you could see foam around there world were it leads to elsewhere. In the book The Giver people don't have the chance to choose their own life. People from the community don't even get to make their own choices they don't even get to keep their own memories because in the book a quote says " People are weak, people are selfish when people have the freedom to choose They Choose Wrong". So the chief elder didn't want to make the same mistake for the people. Another quote says "  The worst part of holding memories is not the pain, it's the lonleyness of it, memories need to be shared". So no matter what people are gonna be selfish and weak but to keep them going they need the love and pain to understand the human race.

The Giver

In The Giver in chapter four Jonas has a memory about this baby kid name Gabriel he is barely a new born while Jonas was helping the old woman with bathing. Slowly he remembered about Gabriel. This memory might be important because in that page of the story when Jonas was bathing the old woman he thought about baby Gabriel because he remembered about how fragile the skin is and the soothing water and the gentle motion of the hand and how slippery the soap made it relaxed and peaceful. While reading the book The Giver in the story so far there have been a lot of memory moments. One memory is that he remembered about the baby Gabriel. In chapter four, Jonas squeezed cleansing lotion onto the clean sponge at the edge of the tub and began to wash the frail dry body of the woman as" Last night he had watched as his father bathed the new child remembering the relaxed, peaceful smile on the woman's face reminded him of Gabriel being bathed.

In chapter one by The Giver Jonas has a memory about his friend Asher. In this memory it talks about Jonas trying to support his friend Asher in his game but Jonas accidentally says something that he is not supposed to say. In this memory Asher gets in trouble by his coach and is taken aside for a brief and serious talk by his coach. Jonas is now thinking about the feeling of fear, he remembered that moment of palpable, stomach sinking terror when the aircraft had streaked above. Why is this memory important might be because during in that chapter Jonas talks about how he was scared for the month of December to come. He was having the strangest feelings around that time. Which might be why he is having all this stressed and having flash backs of his memories again and again.
