The Story Behind Killer Clowns

On October 22nd 2016 around Berwyn and other places that there has been sightings of killer clowns. These killer clowns have been trying to lure out kids and teenagers into the woods. Even though there has been no sign of clowns that had done any damage yet to anybody. They still want to figure out why the clowns appeared in the first place and why they are scaring adults and children. These clowns wear these scary vicious masks to scare adults and children. There are a lot of clowns in Berwyn and in Chicago. Usually the clowns are hiding in the dark somewhere around the woods. These clowns hide in the corn field or go on omegle scarying people all over the world. A lot of people go clown hunting to find these clowns.

These evil clowns are roaming our neighborhoods. And they're spreading across the country. From one of the articles I have found a quote when the clowns first appeared it says, "On August 21st, a police deputy investigated reports of a clown with a white face paint trying to lure children into the dark thicket. A resident told him one of her sons had seen many clowns flashing green lights and her other son had heard pounding on the door and the sound of chains clanking. Other children told him that clowns had tried to tempt them with money and that the clowns live in the house by a pond deep in the woods".

The clowns come out in the day and night usually you'll find them in places that no one can see you like the woods and parks. They also stalk you around your house and try to scare you and these killer clowns send you letters with fake blood all over the letter. Is this important yes it is important because these clowns just appeared out of no where and they are trying to take over your life and kill you for some reason that people still can't explain. Some newscast say that they have found sightings of killer clowns usually occurring in the months leading up to Halloween

1st quarter reflections

In the first quarter of ELA it was some what a little challenging in the beginning of the class. Through out the quarter we would discuss a lot about articles and story's and in those discussions we would have to write a blog about what we learned. I feel like that I have improved in my writing because before I wouldn't write a paragraph or use any details to help explain my story on what I was talking about. I also had hard focusing on what I was writing about and I didn't quite understand some things.  Now that I see from my writing that I have improved a lot and I could explain more things better. I would say that I do need a little bit more help on my writing just with correcting some sentences with my punctuations. So far my paragraphs are improving little by little.

What are some strategies that helped benefit me through on the way. Some strategies that helped me through the 1st quarter of ELA is that I learned a lot of new words and phrases that helped me improve a lot of new things. I also learned some words can mean the same thing. I read a book that I have never read before and it was interesting to read about. I learned a lot of new things that I have never learned before. There are some things that I need to prepare for when I go to high school because there are so many things to learn about in the world that we can not miss out on.

Some things I have learned about the world is that you are never gonna get what you want. You actually have to work for what you really want to achieve in your future and you have to believe in yourself in order for you not not give up on your goal. Another thing is that if you want something in this world you can't always be so negative or so positive you should be both so that you could learn from your mistakes and know what to do for the next time. If you wanted to try something new you will be ready for what ever comes at you.

The Giver/Film vs. Book

Part One: In the book from The Giver tells us as the reader how Jonas receives his memories by comparing and contrast the similarities from the book and the movie. When Jonas first went to see The Giver the old guy would sit in a chair and Jonas will lay down on the couch on his stomach while then The Giver puts his hand on Jonas back so that he can receive the memory. How that supports my topic sentence is that it gives a clear explanation about how Jonas receives the memory's.The differences of the book and movie. From the movie it is a little bit different from the book The Giver tells Jonas to come close to him and he gets closer and closer then The Giver pulls his chair real close to him and tells Jonas to roll up his sleeves. You can see markings on Jonas arms they were black markings on the sides of his hand. The Giver had the same markings as Jonas. When the arms both connected to one and another The Giver will give Jonas the memories and Jonas can see the memories and when they let go everything goes back to normal. In the book a quote says, “ We gained control of many things, but we had to let go of others”. How it supports my topic sentence and quote is by explaining by sometimes the good memories can be taken away to spread out good cause.

Part two: Why did the directors and writers choose to make the movie and book very different from one and another. In the film, the director shows us the community differently from how we find out from the book. The differences from it is that the community how I imagined is that they lived up all the way in the clouds. But in the movie they live on a rock covered by a lot of clouds and out there into elsewhere it looks like the different kind of seasons since they do have climate change it shows the different kind of weather and seasons that they have never experienced like winter, fall, spring, rain and summer. There world is so unfamiliar that you can't really describe in words. The world is suppose to be a utopia place but from the outside it looks like a utopia place but when you know the inside of the secret truth it will tell you something else. Why I think the director decided to make that way is because maybe they wanted to make this world into a place that wouldn't be forgettable and it sort the of looks like our world like the earth but somehow it's still different. A quote that I found from google says, “ The community of The Giver had achieved at such great price, a community without danger or pain, but also a community without music, color or art and books”. In that quote it has a great way of saying about how the community describes itself. I do not think it changes the story I think it sums up the whole theme to the book and movie and it has a great visual on how their world looks.

Part three: In my experience of reading the book and movie came down to what I think was the best understanding of The Giver. During the whole story about The Giver the one that I understood the most was the book. Why I chose the book because it had better explanation on what was going to happen during the whole plot and setting and climax. The book explained itself by giving us good details on every chapter. The best part of the book is that every time you read a chapter the author who leave a cliffhanger in order for us to keep reading and wanting to read more about it and it made it very more interesting to read. Also from the book it showed from the beginning about Jonas life and the book gave you more of a surprised moment then the movie because in the movie they told you straight forward but for me instead I would like to be surprised on what is going to happen. By learning the experience of The Giver and telling you my opinion on what I thought was better impacted of understanding The Giver was the book.

Giver Themes

Jonas is the dynamic character in the story. Why is Jonas the dynamic character is because throughout the story Jonas is really shy and curious and confused. Sometime throughout the story Jonas starts changing his attitude. In one of the chapters Jonas shows his feelings about how feels in the beginning of the story. Like during the ceremony of the twelve when he was skipped and he was wandering why. In the quote it says “Twenty,” he heard her voice say clearly “pierre” She skipped me, Jonas thought, stunned.” (57) In that page you can see that Jonas was nervous, confused, frightened, unaware of what was going on. At the end of the story Jonas is a whole complete person. He is more brave, mindset, confident, and aware of his surroundings he understands things a lot better now that he knows more about the truth of his community. Throughout the months of being the receiver of memory. Jonas been understanding the memory's he receives at first he didn’t know about anything that was going on but now since The Giver showed him the truth Jonas want to make a change for his community and the future.

The theme in The Giver book has a strange way of telling how the world looks. In my prediction I think Jonas world is in the clouds because from the movie you could see foam around there world were it leads to elsewhere. In the book The Giver people don't have the chance to choose their own life. People from the community don't even get to make their own choices they don't even get to keep their own memories because in the book a quote says " People are weak, people are selfish when people have the freedom to choose They Choose Wrong". So the chief elder didn't want to make the same mistake for the people. Another quote says "  The worst part of holding memories is not the pain, it's the lonleyness of it, memories need to be shared". So no matter what people are gonna be selfish and weak but to keep them going they need the love and pain to understand the human race.
