Part two: Why did the directors and writers choose to make the movie and book very different from one and another. In the film, the director shows us the community differently from how we find out from the book. The differences from it is that the community how I imagined is that they lived up all the way in the clouds. But in the movie they live on a rock covered by a lot of clouds and out there into elsewhere it looks like the different kind of seasons since they do have climate change it shows the different kind of weather and seasons that they have never experienced like winter, fall, spring, rain and summer. There world is so unfamiliar that you can't really describe in words. The world is suppose to be a utopia place but from the outside it looks like a utopia place but when you know the inside of the secret truth it will tell you something else. Why I think the director decided to make that way is because maybe they wanted to make this world into a place that wouldn't be forgettable and it sort the of looks like our world like the earth but somehow it's still different. A quote that I found from google says, “ The community of The Giver had achieved at such great price, a community without danger or pain, but also a community without music, color or art and books”. In that quote it has a great way of saying about how the community describes itself. I do not think it changes the story I think it sums up the whole theme to the book and movie and it has a great visual on how their world looks.
Part three: In my experience of reading the book and movie came down to what I think was the best understanding of The Giver. During the whole story about The Giver the one that I understood the most was the book. Why I chose the book because it had better explanation on what was going to happen during the whole plot and setting and climax. The book explained itself by giving us good details on every chapter. The best part of the book is that every time you read a chapter the author who leave a cliffhanger in order for us to keep reading and wanting to read more about it and it made it very more interesting to read. Also from the book it showed from the beginning about Jonas life and the book gave you more of a surprised moment then the movie because in the movie they told you straight forward but for me instead I would like to be surprised on what is going to happen. By learning the experience of The Giver and telling you my opinion on what I thought was better impacted of understanding The Giver was the book.
